We think the message of this excellent website, www.lovefoodhatewaste.com is spot-on for farm shops, farmers' markets, pyo and box schemes. Customers will get more from their shopping experience at farm shops and farmers' markets if they plan the meals they'll make and buy the fresh ingredients they need. The Love Food Hate Waste website is packed with positive messages about buying food sensibly and using leftovers to make more meals.

'Every year in the UK we throw away £12 billion worth of food which could have been eaten. Wasted food is a waste of money and a major contributor to climate change. If we all stopped wasting food that could have been eaten, it would have the same environmental impact as taking 1 in 4 cars off UK roads. Love Food Hate Waste is a campaign from WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) that has lots of tasty left-overs recipes, a portion calculator, top-tips and date label advice to help us make the most of the food we buy.'
