The Met Office has confirmed this week an official Indian Summer, with temperatures reaching up to 20C.

It's perfect timing for farms across the UK who are welcoming holidaying school children and their parents to a fun-packed week of events, including pumpkin festivals and trails, farm walks and creative activities.

Those a little older will be able to visit many farms on Halloween for a spooktacular experience destined to send shivers down your spine, as featured in BBC Countryfile at the weekend.

FARMA chairman Stuart Beare, who runs Tulleys Farm in West Sussex, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year for its Halloween events, has been busy preparing the site for months in advance, and echoed the sentiments of many when he said he was holding out for a dry week.

The news from The Met Office suggests that the good weather should last through to the weekend for most parts of the country, with temperatures likely to return to the low teens next week.
