REAP is a voluntary group, membership organisation and charity set up in 2007 by local residents with the aim of bringing the community together to take practical local action on climate change and the environment. For example we run events e.g. hustings, films and talks; we research and encourage greener ways to travel; we help make homes warmer by providing information and advice on carbon-saving home improvements; and we have a gardening group which encourages fruit and vegetable growing at home and in public spaces.

REAP runs the FARMA-accredied Oakwood Farmers' Market via REAP Trading Ltd which is a trading arm. The market operates on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the site of the Oakwood Clock in Leeds LS8. It has around 17 regular stalls and 3 or 4 guests. Most come from within a 30-mile radius. The market is also a community hub with local/community information and regular input on REAP initiatives. Another focus on the site is REAP's edible bed. The market is a plastic bag-free zone.
