Risk Management Services Limited (RMS) is a fully independent risk management company, offering a health and safety consultancy service to help organisations identify, manage and minimise risk.

Founded in 1992, RMS is regarded as the largest provider of health and safety consultancy services to the rural sector, and now boasts in excess of 5,000 clients.

Whilst the rural sector accounts for a large proportion of our clients, we also have the expertise to provide health and safety support to a much wider range of industry sectors. We do not believe in a one size fits all solution.

RMS’s key strength is its people. We do not sub-contract our service or use associate consultants. All our Health and Safety Consultants are employed by NFU Mutual and are subject to on-going auditing and appraisal to ensure they maintain the highest standards of work. If you have answered no to any of the above then we could recommend a review of your existing Health and Safety Systems.


Health and Safety Support Service Level 1: Helps and assists you to comply with legislation. It includes an on-site inspection, audit report, advice manual and CD, optional quarterly newsletter update service, and access to your consultant for ongoing support via phone and email. This service is for clients who have documentation in place but would like a fresh pair of qualified eyes to audit and help monitor their arrangements.

Health and Safety Support Service Level 2: All of Level 1 plus a written Health and safety policy, completion of Task Specific Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and if required an employee handbook. This service is designed for clients who feel they would benefit from us helping to get their initial, key paperwork in place or up to date and set up a safety system. Health and Safety Support Service Level 3: All of Level 1 and 2 plus regular site visits from your consultant, to ensure continued progress and ongoing competent advice. This is our most personalised, robust level of support and is a yearly commitment.

Flexible Consultancy Day: These days are particularly helpful for existing clients, allowing them to keep up to date with any changes in their business or health and safety legislation. They offer a bespoke and flexible service. These visits can be used for example to help; update and review documentation and progress, provide staff training, attend meetings and offer site inspections.

Site specific advice prices start from £650 + vat.

In addition to the above we also offer a wide range of cost effective products and services, including:

Customers do not need to be insured with NFU Mutual for RMS to provide Health and Safety support. Our service is purely advisory, and confidential to the client.
