It is a very special day, with a very special meaning. Poppies will be on sale and the while village will fall silent, acknowledging a minute's silence, coinciding with our village church bellringers.
This month we're also thinking about CHRISTMAS!!! .....I know, we can't believe it either but we're giving our lovely craftsfolk a huge plug and suggesting our visitors have a think about getting their friends and loved ones 'something' with that flare of innovation, a uniqueness every Christmas shopper strives to find!
It's here! That 'something' is at Orton Farmers' Market! Handmade by one of our loverly loverlies!
How about a handmade mandolin? A view of The Lakes in watercolour? A rough fell ewe in photographic print? Ornaments? Calendars? Cards? Baking kits? Jewellery? Soaps? All have that special handmade touch.
Santa's little helpers aren't around until next month's market (Saturday 9 December) but we like to think our producers are little all year round worker bees (we have honey on sale too!).
Seriously, we've booked good weather so be sure to fetch your waterproofs, it IS Cumbria afterall - come and say "Hello" from 9am!
