The course covers three key areas:
• Preparing for farm visits
• Food, farming and the countryside in the national curriculum
• Talking to pupils, students and teachers
Courses are delivered over 2 whole days, usually 09.30 to 16.30, with refreshments and lunch breaks. Outdoor activities are limited to a risk assessment exercise; you will be notified if other than basic outdoor clothing is required.
During the course you will be supported to produce a portfolio of useful materials to use on the farm. Once the portfolio has been submitted and assessed as meeting the standard, you will receive a qualification from the Open College Network and an ATF certificate of achievement to display at your premises.
The course fee is £150 + VAT inclusive of registration with the Open College Network.
