Becoming a Member

If, like the FRA, you believe that a farmer’s role in the food system is important and that where possible they should be supported to sell direct to the public, then we would love to have you as one of our members.

As the trade association supporting farm retail, the FRA plays a pivotal role in:

  • Helping members to develop and run farm retailing businesses, from farmers’ market stalls through to farm shops.
  • Providing benefits tailored to our members' needs in order to help them save money or improve their business.
  • Lobby and work with local and national government and partners to ensure the voices of farm retailers are listened to.
  • Promote the values of true farm retailing to the public through the use of social media and press partners.

Membership Categories

Farm Retail Association (FRA) membership is open to a broad range of retailers, from new start up through to established farm retailers. If your business fits one of the categories below, we would welcome a membership application from you.

Why would you want to be a member of FRA?

All members are different and need different help and support. To ensure that each member gets the help they need, we are always developing our membership offering. All members get access to an area of the website which lists all associate members, benefits, events and technical papers. How does the membership process work?

The FRA team try to provide the help and support you need both when you are a member and when you are looking to find out about membership. If you wish to talk through any of the above or have any concerns about the membership process, you can call the FRA team on 0345 319 6740 or e-mail [email protected]

The application process is all via the website. We have done this so that your details are in one place and kept on a central members’ database. The process is simple and will not take long. It’s broken into a couple of stages.

  • Sign-up
  • Agree to the Direct Debit request (this will be emailed to you on completion of your application form). The DD kicks in in year two of your membership. When your membership is approved we will invoice you for your year one fees.

  • Application sent to the FRA Board for approval

Finally, if you would like one of the team to call you and talk you through the application process we are happy to do this. E-mail with a time when we can call and include the best number to get hold of you on and we will endeavour to help.

If you have any questions about becoming a member or the process of membership please give the team a call on 0345 319 6740
