Newlyns Farm Shop

If you walk into Newlyns Farm Shop near Hook in Hampshire, the first thing that catches your eye is the large well tended butchery counter. All the meat is hung and butchered here by a team of six  resident butchers who are well placed to give good advice to the many customers.

“One of the most welcoming farm shop butchery counters I have ever approached – not simply due to the spectacle of meat on offer but also the enthusiasm and passion of the staff who hold a wealth of expertise and knowledge.”

Cherly Garthwaite

Farming 600 acres of arable land and 900 acres of grass land the farm is able to produce all of the Farm Shop’s beef, pork and lamb plus free range geese for the Christmas trade. The team of chefs, together with the butchers design and produce a huge range of added value products from Biltong to pies, plus ready meals for the deli counter and Farm Cafe.

Customers cannot fail to see the connection between the farm and their food, with animals kept in small paddocks beside the shop, farm tours, lambing weekends and even a cookery school!

One judge remarked that it was one of the most welcoming farm shop butchery counters that she had ever visited, not simply because of the spectacle of the displays, but also the enthusiasm, passion and expertise shown by the knowledgeable staff.

Well done Abby!
