About Moseley Farmers’ Market

Moseley Farmers’ Market is held monthly on the village green in Moseley village, which is three miles from the centre of Birmingham. Having been trading for over fifteen years this well established market is busier than ever, with over sixty stall holders and still expanding.

“The quality, freshness, variety and value of the produce are obvious to anyone attending the market. On the stalls, presentation is excellent and the sellers frequently advise on the preparation and cooking of what they offer. They have every right to be proud of what they offer.”

Manager Joss Kennordrie and his team of volunteers are all unpaid and since the foundation of the market in the year 2000 they have returned over £50.000 of profits to the local community, enhancing the life and centre of Moseley village. Many traders offer takeaway food, which with the
availability of good seating and busker’s entertainment makes a visit to the market a very sociable event.

There is a broad spectrum of produce on offer with a roughly even split between primary and secondary producers, almost all coming from within fifty miles of Birmingham. Most of the customers come from within a two mile radius which creates a great feel of it being “their” market.

As our judges commented “The quality, freshness, variety and value of the produce is obvious to everyone attending. This coupled with the excellent presentation and the friendly advice has forged a market that they have every right to be proud of.”

The Retail Champion judging panel would like to highlight the exceptional work of Moseley Farmers’  market, which narrowly missed out on the Retail Champion award this year. The judging panel loved  he passion for farmers’ markets shown throughout the market, the quality of stalls and the way it  acts as a true ambassador for Farmers’ Markets.
